The ever popular Sims franchise is set to receive yet another expansion with a furrier encounter as EA does pets. The Sims 2: Pets builds on the unique Sims experience in which players will now be able to add pet friends to their homes.
Players can chose from existing breeds, “designer” pets or design their own pet in the “Create a Pet” feature. This allows for total customisation with owners deciding their pet’s size, shape, breed, unique markings and even their personalities. There are various animals on offer, so each said to be a unique and enjoyable experience. Players perform the usual pet-sim actions, from teaching their pet new tricks to taking them for a “romp” in the pack (according to EA), dress and even send their pets to the employment office. Along with this, special pet accessories and features are available to share with other Pets players. “The Sims 2 Pets captures the magic between pets and their owners. A dog gnawing at his chew toy, a cat jumping at a dangled feather, a toddler stroking the chest of a big dog who sits by patiently—even a frisky dog getting caught rolling around in the trash. These special moments all come to life through the lifelike animations and artwork of The Sims 2 Pets. There is something delightful about your Sim, a little pet person, having a pet of their own. Pets allows players to tell more stories with their Sims and helps create more emergent anecdotes within the game.” Sims 2: Pets Executive Producer Rod Humble Although the core concept remains the same throughout each version, Nintendo owners are in for a treat with specific features available for each of the three main consoles: GameCube, DS and GameBoy Advance, straight from the press release: GameCube
